Musculoskeletal Injury Treatment By Chartered Physiotherapists.

What is Musculoskeletal Injury Treatment?

A musculoskeletal injury is an injury that occurs to a skeletal muscle, tendon, ligament, joint or blood vessel of a skeletal muscle. Also known as a Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) they are injuries that effect the human bodies movement.

What We Can Do For You.

All of our Physios are Chartered and have training in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, particularly back pain and neck pain. Depending on your condition a combination of techniques will be used and the results are often felt immediately.

Although pain relief is the first goal of musculoskeletal treatment, our Physios will also work with you to gain a better understanding of the problem or injury you have. We want to identify the specific cause of the problem so we can advise you on how to prevent this pain from reoccurring  as well as providing you with lasting results. Our overall aim is to improve your strength, mobility and co-ordination going forward.

Your medical history is reviewed, you will have a thorough physical examination, be diagnosed and have your questions answered. Your pain will be relieved and you will regain movement and you will be referred for alternative treatment if Physiotherapy is not the best option.

MSK Treatment

Information, symptoms & treatment of MSK.

The musculoskeletal system consists of the human skeleton, made by bones attached to other bones with joints, and skeletal muscle attached to the skeleton by tendons. There are 5 basic tissues comprising the musculoskeletal system: bones, ligaments (attaching bone to bone), cartilage (protective gel-like substance lining the joints and intervertebral discs), skeletal muscles and tendons (attaching muscle to bone). So when we refer to musculoskeletal conditions we are referring to a broad range of conditions encompassing almost all of the joints, back or muscular pain.

Many musculoskeletal conditions can cause symptoms of pain (which includes, aches, sharp, shooting, darting, soreness), swelling, or tenderness in the area. However there are other symptoms which are also connected with these such as sleep disturbance, fatigue, lack of energy or lethargy, anxiety and stress.

Musculoskeletal conditions vary in severity. Pain and discomfort secondary to these conditions can interfere with daily activities and potentially limit a person’s independence. They are extremely common and the risk of developing one increases with age.

Musculoskeletal conditions have a range of causes such as age, occupation, activity level, lifestyle, sport and comorbidities. Low back pain is one of the most common musculoskeletal conditions.

Acupuncture has been proven as an effective form of treatment for a range of musculoskeletal conditions. Pain, stiffness, swelling and soreness, in muscles and joints can lead to an obstruction of energy (Qi/Chi), causing problems to the normal function of the whole body. An acupuncturist can restore these disturbances by inserting fine needles into specific points to relieve pain and reduce inflammation.

Acupuncture is recommended in the National Institute for Health & Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidelines for back pain treatment. Acupuncture attempts to treat the body as a “whole” and not just the localised symptoms.

Our highly skilled Chartered Physiotherapists may refer you to one of our clinical Acupuncturists.

Really happy with the two appointments I had with Dylan Connelly to treat my calf strain. His approach was both professional and personable and he ensured that I was completely comfortable during all phases of the appointments.

The best deep tissue massage by Marcelo! Would definitely go again.
Linda C
A very plesant and efficient physiotherapy service.

Had a very positive experience. Had severe back pain and Dylan was able to see me at short notice. He was very thorough and clear in assessing and explaining my condition and structuring a recovery exercise program that worked very succesfully. I am now fully recovered and looking forward to being as active as I was before my injury.

I met with Lisa on three occasions in relation to my hamstring and she was absolutely amazing! So easy to chat to and super informative. You need to book at least a week or two in advance to get a spot with her and it's no surprise. She's absolutely fantastic! He explained and demonstrated the exercises in 'lay' terms and ensured that I understood and was happy with the approach and expected outcomes. I would definitely recommend Dylan for any physio needs.

I went to Olga for 4 or 5 weeks before the marathon this year for hip pain. I was contemplating not running as my long run training had become so painful on the hip. Olga treated with dry needling and massage and over 2 sessions, I saw a big difference. I continued a weekly session to keep me loose and followed her exercise plan. I completed the marathon with no hip issues and felt like my recovery after was a lot faster than previous years.

Myself and my mother attended Craig for 3 sessions - he is expert at what he does, so understanding, gentle and kind. Great personality and a really skilled physio. Would recommend him absolutly without reservation. He explained and demonstrated the exercises in 'lay' terms and ensured that I understood and was happy with the approach and expected outcomes. I would definitely recommend Dylan for any physio needs.

I had a painful trapped nerve in my neck which caused pain together with pins and needles running into my arm and hand. I attended Mohammed twice over a period of two weeks. It completely resolved after second appointment. Mohammed is an expert professional at what he does. I would highly recommend his services. I would definitely recommend Dylan for any physio needs.

I can only recommend Dr. Muhammed Sohail. I’ve been to many physio consultants and he’s been the very best so far: dry needling has improved my IT band issues so much over two sessions including my knee pain. I would definitely recommend Dylan for any physio needs.
