Biomechanic Assessments For Children From A Chartered Physiotherapist.
What is biomechanics and how can it help?
The field of biomechanics applies principles of mechanics to study the structure and function of biological systems. The basis of biomechanical analysis is the determination of how forces generated within the body, or how forces applied to the body, influence the way that we move.
Structural problems in your child’s feet can alter their walking pattern, running pattern & cause pain throughout the body. Clear & accurate assessment of the mechanics of the lower limbs is key to understanding the profound effect that subtle faults in the foot, ankle, knee & hip alignment can cause.

How We Can Help.
Most children only require temporary orthotics or insoles because they are still growing and may outgrow any problems they are currently experiencing. For example many children suffer from flat foot when they are younger but outgrow it in their later years. However if your child is experiencing pain and discomfort in their feet temporary insoles can help to relieve the pain and rectify the problem.
What We Offer
Our Biomechanic specialists may perform detailed investigations to determine how each patient moves (kinematics), or identify the causes of body movement (kinetics) to enhance our understanding of issues concerning health and exercise. Our Biomechanic specialists will take a lower limb mechanical assessment of you, to provide a complete diagnostic of foot & lower limb function; allowing treatment or orthotics to be prescribed accurately.
"Biomechanical assessment for children helps identify developmental or postural issues early, guiding us to address movement dysfunctions, correct imbalances, and support healthy growth, ensuring optimal function and preventing future musculoskeletal problems."
