International Women’s Day approaching fast this Friday the 8th March throughout the world and of course here in Ireland too. We thought it necessary to highlight the fact that Irish Women at home and abroad have contributed significantly in campaigning for important issues as equality, human rights, equal pay in the workforce and domestic violence.

International visionaries such as U.N Ambassador for Human Rights Mary Robinson and Mary MacAleese, both former Presidents of Ireland respectively and the current elected representative of the Seanad Ivana Bacik continue to work and strive for these goals of achieving better standards of living for women throughout Ireland and Internationally too.
