Lactose intolerance is a common digestive issue, where a person is not able to digest or absorb lactose, the main sugar naturally found in milk and other dairy products. The condition cannot be cured, and treatment involves managing symptoms through dietary modifications and monitoring the intake of lactose. Due to restricted consumption of milk and other dairy products, people with lactose intolerance often have low levels of calcium and vitamin D but these can be strengthened through dietary intervention.

If you suspect that you may be lactose intolerant, it is advisable to visit your GP to rule out other possible causes of symptoms. Your next step will be to make an appointment with our dietitians so that they can accurately assess your symptom profile. Many people wrongly self-diagnose and risk deficiencies of essential nutrients.
The first step is to assess your diet, lifestyle and areas for improvement. Through diet modification, our Dietitians can help you to identify triggers for your symptoms and help you to modify your diet accordingly.
Your Dietitian will also carry out a complete nutritional assessment, taking a diet history, body composition analysis including weight, BMI, waist circumference, body fat percentage, lean body mass, waist to hip measurement and more. You will receive:
